Objective: Create a secure building envelope, using B 1 security windows
and doors. Since the home is situated close to a major thoroughfare, noise
control
was an additional issue.
This was accomplished by the fringe benefit of 18mm laminated glazing on
the outside, which brought the nose control level to 44 dB and by the use
of built-in rolling shutters.
The rolling shutters also provide privacy and an additional layer of insulation
which greatly improves living comfort.
